Visible Music College opens new campus in Olathe
Olathe, Kan. – Students interested in a career in dance will soon be able to enroll in a new diploma program at Olathe.
On Wednesday, the Kansas Board of Regents approved an application from Visible Music College for granting degrees in Kansas.
Founded in 2000, Visible Music College is a private Christian music college with campuses in major US cities, including Memphis, Tennessee; Chicago, Ill.; and Dallas, TX.
To be eligible for degree-granting approval, the institution submitted documents about the campus site, equipment, and space needed by the students. Board staff also reviewed several documents provided by Visible, including financial statements, proof of accreditation and an enrollment agreement, as well as an outline of tuition fees and program information, including plans. course, clinical or clerkship requirements, and faculty qualifications.
The new campus will be managed by The Culture House and the Störling Conservatory of Dance in Olathe. The school will offer a Bachelor of Arts in Dance with concentrations in Performance, Choreography, and Dance Ministry.
“This new degree is an incredible opportunity for dancers who want to pursue higher education in dance while preparing for a professional career in the arts.” Kathleen Schuler, director of the Störling Dance Conservatory, said.
Students will have the option of enrolling in an accelerated coursework program to complete their degree over three years and two summer terms or through a traditional four-year course. The conservatory also offers a one-year certificate in dance.
Registration is now open for the Fall 2022 semester. Auditions can be accepted via video or by special appointment. Prospective students can find more information about audition and application requirements on the Störling Conservatory website.
