Jonah Hill hails his ‘iconic’ sister Beanie Feldstein ahead of his big Broadway bow
Jonah Hill took a heartwarming selfie on the streets of Manhattan on Friday in front of a mural depicting his sister, Feldstein Beanie. (And if you’ve never been to the Big Apple, yes, that’s how paid parking works in a city where everything is vertical. It’s like Tetris.)
“Iconic sister alert,” Hill wrote in her caption along with a red mermaid emoji.
Jonah and Beanie’s mother, Sharon Feldstein, replied with a “Yup”. Beanie added crying emojis for the digital group hug.

As well as appearing in Gucci’s new campaign (which she called “the most beautiful I’ve ever felt in my life”), it’s Beanie’s big weekend with the opening of funny girl at the August Wilson Theater. (Tix are still available.)
The musical written by Jule Styne on the life of vaudevillian Fanny Brice catapulted Barbra Streisand to stardom in 1964, and she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for the film adaptation a few years later. This is the first Broadway revival of the legendary show since the original. Feldstein appears opposite Ramin Karimloo, Jared Grimesand Jane Lynch.
Feldstein recently told The Times of Israel that his admiration for the series seemed to predate his earliest memories. “As far as I’m concerned, I always liked it,” she said. She also noted that she “really believed[s] that any Jewish woman who wants to be funny, play and sing owes something to Fanny Brice. Regarding her singing, she added, “not to flex, but I was a junior cantor.”
Beanie (first name Elizabeth) is the baby of the family at 28, while her brother Jonah is ten years older at 38. Sadly, Feldstein’s older brother, Jordan Feldstein, died aged 40 in December 2017. The music industry professional, who fronted band Maroon 5 among others, died of a blood clot. on my leg.
In an interview with The Cut in early March, Beanie called Hill her best friend. “We lost our brother,” she said, “so we have a very, very deep connection, and he’s like one of the most important people in my entire life, and being his sister is like my greatest joy.”
