How to set up and use Spotify Sleep Timer on an Android smartphone

Previously, dedicated music players like iPods were very popular, but now they have been replaced by smartphones. If you are a music listener, you must be in a situation where the music turns into a sleep inducer, especially with the soft and moving music at night. There may be several instances where you woke up half asleep to turn off the music on your phone or the device’s battery was completely depleted by the time you wake up.

To resolve these issues, some music streaming apps like Spotify offer a feature to automatically stop music after a specific amount of time. But the problem is, you need to be aware of your sleep cycle and know how long it usually takes you to fall asleep while listening to music. Nonetheless, this is still a very useful feature.

In this step-by-step guide, we are going to show you how to set up a sleep timer on your smartphone using the Spotify app so that it automatically stops playing music.

Setting up Spotify Sleep Timer on Android

Step 1: Open the Spotify app on your Android smartphone and listen to a song from the playlist of your choice.

2nd step: After that, tap on the music player to get a full screen view of the current song.

Step 3: Now tap on the ellipsis icon or the three dots icon in the top right corner.

Step 4: From the list of available options, choose the “Sleep Timer” option.

Step 5: You will now see a “Stop audio input” screen. Here you can choose the approximate time to stop the music.

That’s it. Now the music will stop at the end of the chosen period. You also have the option of choosing “End of Track” which will stop music playback at the end of the song currently playing.
