Flying Goat Cellars Hosts Annual Winemaker Dinner at La Purisima Mission


Lompoc, Calif. (August 22, 2022) – Flying Goat Cellars will hold its fifteenth annual Winemakers Dinner at Mission La Purísima September 30, 2022. Winemaker Norm Yost teams up with Chef Clark Staub of Full of Life Flatbread for an intimate dining experience in the romantic, rustic ambience of the historic Franciscan Mission. Guests will relax in the mission garden as winemaker Yost pours Goat Bubbles sparkling wine served with appetizers. A four-course meal prepared by Chef Staub will be served in the California Heritage Dining Room, which seats 40 people. Three wines that will be showcased at the event are the winners of the Orange County Fair Wine Competition.

Winemaker Norm Yost has been in the industry for over 40 years. He launched his own label, Flying Goat Cellars, in 2000. Yost became a Santa Barbara County pioneer when he launched the first sparkling wine program, Goat Bubbles, in 2005. Yost is also known for handcrafting limited batches single-vineyard, award-winning Pinot. Noir and Pinot Gris from the best vineyards in the department.

Founded in 2003, Full of Life Flatbread quickly became a “slow food” destination restaurant in Los Alamos, California. Chef Clark Staub’s menus include a wide range of ever-changing creative dishes using local, organic and sustainable ingredients, as well as foraged and wild foods. Staub’s personality is as colorful and innovative as his background in the music industry.

La Purísima Mission State Historic Park is California’s most fully restored mission. It offers a bucolic and relaxed setting for special events, surrounded by historic buildings. The beneficiary of the event, Back to freedom, is dedicated to preserving the freedom, diversity, and habitat of America’s wild horses and burros through sanctuary, education, advocacy, and conservation, while enriching the human mind through direct experience with the natural world. Flying Goat produces a special label, Celebrate Freedom, with 40% of sales going to RTF.
