The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period September 19-25.

Chestnut Hill

September 19 Theft from a motor vehicle. A complainant who parked his car near the Wissahickon trailhead off Valley Green Road reported that his window was smashed and items including credit cards were stolen from inside. The credit cards were then used at Family Dollar.

September 20 Theft of auto parts. A complainant reported that the catalytic converter was stolen from his car in the 200 block of East Graves Lane.

September 22 Theft from a motor vehicle. A complainant who parked his car near the entrance to the Wissahickon Trail near Valley Green Road said his window was smashed and items including cash and credit cards were stolen from the interior.

September 23 Theft of auto parts. A complainant reported that the catalytic converter was stolen from his car in the 200 block of East Willow Grove Avenue.

September 24 Flight. A man with a gun robbed a woman for her purse in the 200 block of East Highland Avenue.

September 25 Heist. One complainant said she locked her home, located in the 8300 block of Ardleigh Street, with a deadbolt before leaving. When she returned it was unlocked, but nothing was stolen.

September 25 Flight. A complainant had his bicycle stolen from his property in the 7600 block of Crittenden Street.

Mount Airy

September 19 Flight. A complainant reported that a man armed with a handgun walked into a store in the West Hortter Street unit block and demanded money from the cash register. The attacker punched the witness in the side of the head and fled with an unknown amount of money.

September 19 Attempted carjacking. A complainant was sleeping in his car, which was parked in the West Sedgwick Street unit block, when he was awakened by a man pointing a gun at him, telling him to give him the car. A fight ensued during which the attacker stabbed the man in the leg once. The Complainant then drove to Chestnut Hill Hospital.

September 20 Theft of auto parts. A complainant returned to his car, parked in the 900 block of East Johnson Street, to find that the license plate had been stolen.

September 20 Aggravated aggression. A complainant reported that his ex-girlfriend approached him in the 1100 block of East Upsal Street with a black handgun. She was in the company of a woman identified as her sister who rammed her vehicle, causing damage. The attackers then fled in an SUV.

September 23 Theft of auto parts. A complainant reported that the catalytic converter was stolen from his car on the 7300 block of Rural Lane.
