Live musical performances, $5 Budweiser beers and player autographs are all on the menu for the second annual “Country Night,” taking place Saturday, Nov. 12, during the Abbotsford Canucks vs. Henderson Silver Knights game at the Abbotsford Centre.

Country music artists Chad Brownlee, Karen Lee Batten and Cambree Lovesey are all scheduled to perform.

Brownlee, a multiple British Columbia Country Music Association award winner and 2011 Canadian Country Music Association Rising Star award winner, grew up in Kelowna and achieved a #1 Canada Country hit.

He was a former Vancouver Canucks draft pick and was selected in the sixth round (190th overall) in 2003. Brownlee played junior hockey with the Vernon Vipers of the BC Hockey League and continued his hockey course at Minnesota State University. He played one season of professional hockey with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL before injuries ended his hockey career.

He went on to release four albums and his streams reached over 85 million plays.

Abbotsford’s Karen Lee Batten first broke through on the first season of Canadian Idol in 2003. She released her debut album “Every Moment” in 2005 and her second album “Cause a Scene” in 2014. This album created four radio singles and had chart success. This success has led to appearances at Rockin’ River, Merritt Mountain Festival, Gone Country, Sunfest, Williams Lake Stampede, a showcase at Canadian Country Music Week and an anthem at NHL games, the AHL, CFL and MLS.

She released her third album “Under the Covers in Muscle Shoal” in 2018 and it reached #2 on Billboard Soundscan and #4 on iTunes. Batten also released popular singles in 2020 and 2021 and won several BCCMA awards. She plans to release a new album in 2023.

Abbotsford Canucks fans might recognize Lovesey as the game’s host, but she’s also an accomplished performer. The 23-year-old from Abbotsford released her debut album ‘Kiss My Boots’ in 2018 and has since released several singles.

She has over a decade of onstage experience and has performed at the CFL Gray Cup, Local Nashville, Cook County Saloon, Rogers Arena, Roxy, BC Place, Gabby’s Country Cabaret and many more. ‘others. She has also opened for artists such as Dallas Smith, Chilliwack and Tenille Arts.

In addition to live music, Budweiser beers will be on sale for $5 Saturday after the game in the HQ social stage area. Some players will also sign free autographs for fans in the same area after the game.

The face-to-face on Saturday is set at 7 p.m.

ByteDance’s music app Resso offers clues about TikTok Music launch • TechCrunch https://mp3ar.com/bytedances-music-app-resso-offers-clues-about-tiktok-music-launch-techcrunch/ Fri, 04 Nov 2022 11:50:26 +0000 https://mp3ar.com/bytedances-music-app-resso-offers-clues-about-tiktok-music-launch-techcrunch/ TikTok owner ByteDance is heading to launch its music streaming service TikTok Music, rivaling Spotify and YouTube Music, according to reports. TikTok owner ByteDance is heading to launch its music streaming service TikTok Music, rivaling Spotify and YouTube Music, according to reports. In addition to recent discoveries of TikTok Music brands in global markets, TechCrunch has now discovered newly added references to a “TikTok Music” service in streaming app Resso, owned by TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance. The code appears to suggest that user activity can be synced between the Resso app and TikTok Music, and specifically refers to a “music.tiktok.com” URL.

ByteDance already today operates the streaming music service named Resso in markets such as India, Brazil and Indonesia. But references to TikTok Music in the Resso app suggest the China-based company could sync user activity between the two apps. Additionally, the code refers to TikTok Music as part of TikTok.

It’s unclear whether TikTok will test its music service under the name Resso globally, or launch a separate app for it.

The company also launched a “music.tiktok.com” site for certain regions – references to which were also found in the code – suggesting that the service could launch first in Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, in Malaysia and Singapore. You can’t download the client yet, and if you try to click the download button, a pop will say “We’re working hard to bring you the desktop version. Check back soon.

The mobile version of the site suggests that the download button will direct users to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

The site’s terms of use also use the “TikTok Music” trademark, we found.

“Welcome to TikTok Music! TikTok Music, one of our services defined in the TikTok Terms, is a music streaming service that allows users to listen to music,” the terms page reads. Many pages of the site have placeholder text indicating that it is still under development, which could mean that ByteDance is preparing to start testing the service in certain geographies.

Code references aren’t the only clues that a TikTok Music brand is in the works.

The company also recently recorded verified “TikTok Music” branded social media handles on Twitter and Instagram, as well as region-specific handles for regions like Latin America, Australia and New Zealandand Asia, and countries like Singapore and Malaysia. These accounts posted similar creative teasers saying “Welcome to a new way to experience music”, “discover your new favorite song”, and “stay tuned” between April and May.

These moves match information a former ByteDance employee told TechCrunch earlier this year. They told us that ByteDance previously considered bringing the Resso service to more markets under a “TikTok Music” brand. Specifically, it had assessed launches in mature markets like the UK and Australia, the source said. Last month, The Wall Street Journal also reported that ByteDance was in talks with notable music labels to expand its streaming service to global markets.

A TikTok Music service would make sense for ByteDance, as many hit songs first go viral on TikTok and generate streams on Spotify and YouTube. A report released by the company last year suggested that 175 songs that were trending on the short-form video platform ended up on the Billboard 100 chart.

If ByteDance launches its own music service, it could direct those streams to its own app — be it Resso or TikTok Music — allowing it to generate ad and subscription revenue.

ByteDance has shown interest in continuing to invest in music. Earlier this year, it launched its own music distribution solution called SoundOn. With this service, the company pays 100% royalties to artists the first year, then 90% royalties from the second year. The platform also allows artists to drop teasers on TikTok to get early feedback.

The popularity of TikTok Music will depend on its ability to secure deals with major labels, which will allow it to offer users access to popular songs in addition to the original songs released first on TikTok. It could be difficult. In September, Sony Music withdrew its catalog from Resso, which, for example, caused negative reactions among users.

TikTok did not respond to requests for comment on this story.

Kinga Glyk, who is only 25 years old, but is nevertheless very talented, has become the leading singer as the biggest jazz sensation in Europe with her new interpretation of bass guitar grooves.

Daughter of the famous Polish vibraphonist Irek Glyk, she started playing music at the age of 12 in a band. Her father was her source of admiration and contributed greatly to her independence as a musician. Her father repeatedly challenged her and never let her give up or lower her ambitions and expectations.

“It was not easy to start at such a young age and become a bandleader, but I don’t regret it. I’m happy that I was able to learn so much playing for a small audience. It helped me to understand what’s important to me in performance and that it’s not just about having huge success I think for me it’s about being persistent and having a clear vision of the next step. Over time, I’ve learned more about what I need to improve on and what I look for in music. The variety of circumstances has taught me to appreciate my audience, regardless of their size,” he said. she declared.

She never planned her future as a child, but life took her into the musical world step by step, trying to be open all the time, even though the next move might be terrifying and uncomfortable, she has always considered taking the risk in her journey.

The world of music has been her language medium through which she strives to expand her vocabulary. She still speaks in a very personal way, but she hopes to continue to improve her word choice in her songs and find better ways to tell stories.

“It’s a real skill to know what to say, when to say and to choose the right words according to the context and the moment. As far back as I can remember, I have tried to focus on the music more than on the sound. I don’t “I never want to get lazy in my creative process, so I just keep exploring and it’s probably a never-ending quest to think outside the box and the next box. There’s always another box to leave,” she explained.

She became a social media phenomenon after her “Tears in Heaven” cover. Quickly, jazz lovers dubbed her the savior of European youth jazz.

About her fame on social media, she said: “I am grateful that social media has allowed me to reach a wider audience. It is very difficult these days to attract an audience, there are music everywhere. It seems we have to fight for more than ever in the market. The virtual world sometimes swallows precious things. They just disappear in a jungle of information because the “likes” rule everything .I’m afraid people today might suddenly get these titles of ‘the best’ or ‘the up and coming.'” When so many ‘artists’ get the title of being the best, its meaning gets twisted and it is a bit difficult to discriminate the quality among so many options.

Glyk recently released an album titled “Dream,” which she describes as more than an album.

“Every step changes me. It doesn’t matter if I’m training in my room and suddenly realizing something, if I’m on stage with hundreds of different emotions, or if I’m in the studio recording an album “Sometimes the change is more visible and I love it when that’s the case, because you know you’re improving. Being in the studio with such great musicians is a very powerful experience,” she explained. .

For the first time, she will be on stage in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, on the spacious CSO Ada Ankara stage, one of the most famous, on Saturday evening, promising a night full of dazzling jazz melodies. She said she had come across Turkish music and appreciated that it was so distinctly recognizable.

“It will be my first time in Turkey and I feel honored to be able to explore countries through my musical creation that I could not see otherwise. For me personally, these shows also mean my journey with my album “Feelings” is slowly touching. coming to an end and I think it will be special to be able to play the last concerts somewhere I’ve never played them before,” Glyk shared of his excitement ahead of his concert in Türkiye.

Convergence and Song of Nunu, two spin-off games inspired by Riot Games’ hit MOBA League of Legends, have been delayed and are now slated for release in 2023.

In a social media post, Riot Forge, the developer-focused publishing arm of Riot Games, announced the social media delay. Although they recognize that both titles have progressed well, they still need a little more time to finish. No release window outside of 2023 was given.

Developed by Double Stallion Games, Convergence: A League of Legends Story was first announced in 2019. It is a 2D action platformer that focuses on Ekko, a young inventor with a ingenious device for manipulating time.

Song of Nunu is a solo adventure from Tequila Works, the studio behind RiME. The game invites players on an adventure through the treacherous world of Freljord as Nunu, a young boy in search of his mother. Traveling alongside her is her best friend, a wise and cheerful Willump.

To date, Riot Forge has released two games that have come out: Hextech Mayhem, a single-player rhythm platformer featuring Hexplosives expert Ziggs, and Ruined King, a story-driven turn-based role-playing game.

In the same article, it was announced that the next-gen version of Ruined King will also be released in 2023. Those who already own the game on PS4 or Xbox One will be able to update their copy for free.

As a longtime League of Legends player, I loved Riot’s commitment to expanding the League of Legends universe into other genres. The truth is, not everyone appreciates the competitive nature of MOBAs. By expanding into other genres, such as action-adventure, platformers or RPGs, millions of other games can now enjoy the wonderful characters and stories that Riot has imagined. As always, we’ll keep you posted if we learn any new details.

STEM Cuts Ties With Kanye West: Report – HotNewHipHop https://mp3ar.com/stem-cuts-ties-with-kanye-west-report-hotnewhiphop/ Wed, 26 Oct 2022 21:07:00 +0000 https://mp3ar.com/stem-cuts-ties-with-kanye-west-report-hotnewhiphop/

It’s been all Kanye, all the way over the past few weeks as the world has watched a career unfold in real time. West is known for his unfiltered takes on pop culture and politics, often jumping into controversy. He made outlandish claims about slavery, Harriet Tubman, Black Lives Matter, silenced white men and the Jewish community.

While most of his comments were quashed due to mental health issues, when West tripled down on his anti-Semitic remarks, companies began cutting ties with the megastar.

Photo by Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images)

The Gap and Adidas have ended their partnership with Ye, and a production company has shelved a documentary about the rapper. He was fired from Instagram and Twitter before participating in several incendiary interviews where he spoke about his controversies. His influence in the fashion world is also in question, as Balenciaga and Vogue have sworn not to work with him either – and to top it off, he was also let go by his agency, CAA.

The backlash continues to unfold as Marks turn their backs on West left and right, and there’s another one who’s reportedly decided to do the same. Now, STEM and KANO have reportedly revealed that they, too, are ending their relationship with West.

“STEM was created and owned by KANO, the Educational Computing Company,” a statement read. “We removed Kanye’s music from our platform and declined his $10 million to buy our technology.”

They continued, “Instead, your money will go to a company that is focused on empowering artists and the artist in everyone. Power based on truth and unity – not lies and hate. A portion of the proceeds from the new STEM devices will go to the ADL and the NAACP.

It’s yet another devastating blow for the rapper as he released the famous 2 on a STEM player. Although not a decision widely accepted by the public, the publicity has reportedly earned the company millions of dollars.

How does a teen dance app become a national security issue? From Emmy-nominated director Shalini Kantayya of the critically acclaimed film “Coded Bias,” “TikTok, Boom.” makes its broadcast debut on INDEPENDENT LENS.

INDEPENDENT LENS: Trailer | Tiktok, Boom.

“TikTok, Boom.” explores how a social media app, best known for its videos of dancing teenagers, became the flashpoint of a geopolitical controversy between two superpowers – the United States and China. This Sundance favorite explores the impact of an app that eclipsed Silicon Valley to become a global cultural phenomenon reshaping the world. A cast of Gen Z influencers are at the heart of the film, making it one of the most needed and empathetic films exploring what it means to be a digital native.

Content creator Jason Zhang does a live stream

“TikTok, Boom.” explores the journey of the landmark app from its beginnings as a music app, owned by Chinese artificial intelligence company ByteDance, to its explosion into global public consciousness, and delves into the security issues behind the platform, such as content moderation and free speech, and its effects on the mental health of young people.

Beat boxer Spencer X in Los Angeles

Praised by The Wrap as “captivating” and by Variety as “lively, informative” “TikTok, Boom.” explores the many layers of the app, focusing on the platform’s three well-known Gen Z influencers and content creators: Feroza Aziz, a teenage Afghan American activist; Spencer X, a Chinese-American beatboxer from Ecuador; and Deja Foxx, a Filipina American political strategist and model.

Each influencer shares their stories of how they were catapulted onto the platform and how their instant stardom on the app changed their life, affecting everything from their career to their mental health.

Adding to the stories of these creators are the insights of brave whistleblowers and notable experts in technology, politics and media, including:

Taken together, these expert interviews provide rare insight into issues of data collection, child online protection, and national security geopolitical tensions surrounding TikTok.
“TikTok, boom. focuses on TikTok’s rapid growth during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, following creators’ journeys on the platform as they intertwined with major political events, including the Black Lives movement Matter that swept the nation in 2020. Teen activists, influencers, and journalists have shed light on being “shadowbanned” on TikTok, a term that refers to the fact that its content is shown unless of users by the algorithm, i.e. being banned from the platform without formal notice.

As TikTok eclipses Facebook and Instagram as the world’s most downloaded social media app, the film delves into the geopolitical tensions between the United States and China, illuminating the causes and impacts of China’s proposed ban. President Trump’s app, and the impact it would have had on creators and their careers.

“TikTok’s story is about the future of social media itself and the growing tension between democratic youth culture and authoritarian data surveillance,” Kantayya said in a statement. “I’m thrilled to direct such a timely film focused on Gen Z influencers and how technology meets, amplifies and opposes our humanity.”
